I’m so sad this fun, whimsical and very sweet comedy/detective series has been cancelled!
The first season of this adorable show introduces us to Ned, a pie maker who owns his own restaurant, The Pie Hole. He works there with Olive Snook, a waitress and dropping by sometimes is Emmerson Cod a private detective.
Ned has a very special gift. He can bring people back to life, for a minute. After that someone else has to die, which is exactly what happens when he chooses to keep his murdered childhood sweetheart alive for more than a minute.
Chuck, Charlotte Charles, was Ned’s neighbour when they were younger, but lost touch after his mother died, and her father forcing Ned’s dad to send him to boarding school and moving away.
This leaves the adult Ned with a fear of touching people and getting close for fear of abandonment. But with Chuck he finds his kindred spirit and helps her to adjust to life after death.
I just loved this adorable series, filled with colour, gentle dialogue and the incredible chemistry between Anna Friel and Lee Pace, the two leads. I loved the story narration and the interesting stories that form part of the subplot of each episode.
All in all, a fantastic series that will leave a smile on your face!
