I was attracted to this book by the unusual cover of fingernails painted blood red, and didn’t give it a second thought but something compelled me to pick up this book and I’m glad I did.
Kate is a pre-med student with a flighty fashion designer mother, who abandoned her and Kate’s father, disappearing without a trace when Kate was young.
Now Kate is an EMT and a pre-med student who is persuaded by her Aunt Victoria to spend the summer with her and intern at the prestigious Tasty magazine. Kate is initially reluctant, but her fashion designer gene leads her to start work and realise with growing horror that her boss and co-workers are vampires.
Not only that, but young women in the fashion world are being killed in Fashion Murders, and Kate has to figure out which of her co-workers is the killer.
I really enjoyed this book, more intellectual than most vampire books as I can see how believable it is. Death is the ultimate fashion makeover. It’s written in first person style and though I figured out who the killer was by the end of the book, the plot twist near the end just left me reeling.
Definitely one to read!
